Do you recover quickly from disappointment? Do you feel like a generally confident person? Are life’s ups and downs manageable for you?
If you answered “no” to any of these questions I want to share with you some things that you need to do to strengthen your mental resilience.
Accept failure as a stepping stone to success. For a long time people didn’t openly talk about their failures. However, today more and more people are seeing how important failure is to success. It builds the road we travel on to reach our destiny.
Know when it’s time to let go and move on. Letting go and moving on are two hard things to do. Knowing when the time is right can be even harder. Listen to your gut. When it tells you it’s time, be ready to hear it.
Don’t take things personally (and read The Four Agreements to help you with that). Learning not to take things personally will change your life and give you mental strength like you’ve never had.
Believe in who you are and what you have to offer. You are an amazing person with so much potential. It’s time you believe that. The world needs what you have to offer. It’s waiting for you to share your gifts.
Do things that scare you, knowing that they’ll make you stronger. Strength comes from doing things that are hard. If people worked out with 5 lb. weights their whole lives they’d never reap the benefits of lifting 10 lbs., 25 lbs., or 100 lbs. Do things that feel scary and you’ll come out on the other side that much stronger.
Accept what you can’t change and change what you can. Acceptance is something mentally strong people have mastered. Your ability to accept what you can’t change allows you to let go and move on.
Mental strength is the foundation of confidence and confidence helps lead us to a fulfilling life. If you feel stuck and don’t know why, start with building your mental strength.
